Dense-flowerd as has relatively large sepals which flare out looking like little wings. Common has much smaller sepals. Also the flowers have white on them - Common Fumitory, as well as having many more flowers to a head, is uniformly pink.

You can clearly see how the sepals kind of flare out looking like little wings. Also has a slightly spatula-like lower petal - Common Funitory it is not spatulate.
