Brown Rat (Rattus norvegicus) - Muridae (14/10/2007) Driftway, Steyning. Classic ratty face. Sadly I've only got this one photo at the mo. The order is Rodentia, and the Family Muridae along with mice. It's also known as a street rat, or a sewer rat of a wharf rat depending on where it is seen! The other name "Norway Rat" is a misnomer from the 18th century when a naturalist thought and cited that these came from Norway! Now people think they may have originated from central Asia and China.
Grey Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) - Sciuridae (14/03/2006) Driftway, Steyning (garden). Nothing else quite like it. Unlike Rabbits and Hares that people sometimes mislable as rodents, the latter have but two incisors - rabbits/hares have four.

Grey Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) - Sciuridae (04/07/2005) Driftway, Steyning (garden). I love this shot, accidentally underexposed but unmistakeably a sillhouette of a squirrel!

Grey Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) - Sciuridae (06/12/2004) Driftway, Steyning (garden). It's head is actually noshing away behind the nut feeder - clinging on to the main post with its hindfeet!

Water Vole (Arvicola amphibius) - Cricetidae (03/09/2006) Arundel Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. Classic Water Vole. Nothing else quite like it given its giss and location.
Water Vole (Arvicola amphibius) - Cricetidae (03/09/2006) Arundel Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. Was chuffed to get this. Was having a sit down in teh copsey bit on the boardwalk and heard a scurrying noise - and very carefully got my camera in position. Two shots and then it scurried away.
