Common Whitethroat (Curruca communis) (13/05/2006) Woods Mill Nature Reserve, Small Dole, Henfield. Lesser Whitethroat instead has a grey upper and much less strongly defined ring around the eyes. Tricky to distinguish males versus females, but males tend to have a brighter white throat, greyer head and a pinkish wash to the breast. So this is probably a male.
