Jackdaw (Corvus monedula) (16/06/2005) Driftway, Upper Beeding. Steyning (garden). Very distinctive by the grey head and the grey-blue eyes. It's the smallest of the Corvidae in the UK. Can't really distinguish between males and females.
Jackdaw (Corvus monedula) (06/05/2005) Driftway, Upper Beeding. Steyning (garden). Arguing over the rather empty bird bath! They love to nest in chimney pots and will also use owl boxes or tree holes. They only have one brood per year. It tends to form flocks. They often mate for life.
