Yellowhammer ♂ (Emberiza citrinella) (06/02/2008) Driftway, Upper Beeding, Steyning (on our bird ground feeder). Unmistakeable. Females are not as yellow and trend to have darker streaks on a fairly buff-coloured top of the head and a paler yellow underneath. No photos of females yet.
Yellowhammer ♂ (Emberiza citrinella) (06/02/2008) Driftway, Upper Beeding, Steyning (on our bird ground feeder). Really chuffed - taken at dawn - photographer's favourite light dawn or dusk. Regular visitors to our feeders - so important as this bird is becoming quite rare.
