Great Crested Grebe ♂ (Podiceps cristatus) (16/04/2006) Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. In one of the lakes. This I think is a male - the crest extending behond its head and in general a larger more elongated head.
Great Crested Grebe ♀︎ (Podiceps cristatus) (16/04/2006) Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. In one of the lakes. I believe this is a female due to her rounder, less imposing head, with a crest that doesn't extend too far back beyond its head the way the males' tend to.
Great Crested Grebe ♀︎ (Podiceps cristatus) (16/04/2006) Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. In one of the lakes. A female I think.
Great Crested Grebe ♂ and ♀︎ (Podiceps cristatus) (16/04/2006) Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. In one of the lakes. Male and female. They look pretty much identical but I think the male is this side - it's a bit larger and has a more prominant crest.

Great Crested Grebe ♂ and ♀︎ (Podiceps cristatus) (16/04/2006) Arundel Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. In one of the lakes. Male and female courting. The species was nearly hunted to extinction for its feathers. The larger male with the more striking crest is on the left. The males have more elongated heads as well, the female as you can see has a rounder head.
